Explaining Our Programming Pathways
More about O50 Division
The interest in our O50 league is increasing rapidly and it is becoming more competitive than before as O45 players migrate. For this reason, we are making some changes to the upcoming season.
We are estimating that enough players will be joining the O50 league to have at least 6 teams. For this reason, we are dividing the league into two separate group.
GROUP A – We are going to call it “O50 MASTERS”. This group will consist of two teams that play each other every week, Wednesdays starting 6:30pm. This group is less competitive and is designed for people who still want to kick a ball and have fun, but don’t want to play competitive anymore. For people who have been playing in O50 league for years, this is the closest one to what we used to have before 2025. Players can occasionally enjoy being called up to the O50 Group B for a more competitive experience.
GROUP B– The “O50 League” of 4 teams playing a little bit more competitive, with playoffs at the end of the season. There will be 4 captains to run the 4 teams. Each captain can bring 6 players already assigned to their team. For the rest of the team player roster, they will draft from the pool of registered players. Please note that the O50 league is getting closer to a team-based league and there is no guarantee that a captain will draft every remaining player on the pool. In other words, you might register for O50 but if you are not drafted by any of the 4 captains, you will be assigned to the MASTERS league, after you give your consent to the league.
When the registration becomes open in our website, please register as soon as possible. We would like to order uniforms and do the draft ahead of time to avoid any delays to start the summer season.
Note sure which Group A or B to pick or you want to play in both? In that case, please do not register two times to avoid paying double. With one payment you are able to play in either leagues. Please register for O50 League and contact the convenor with your preferences.
** Draft night is scheduled on April 10th, 2026. Please register before this date.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF A CAPTAIN IN O50 LEAGUE:
- Put together the team based on 6 initial players and draft others
- Week to week game management including game sheets, proper substitution, fielding the team roster for each game.
- Proper steps to ask for call-ups in case the team is short
- Trying to attend all the games even if injured, or having an assistant captain cover for you in case of emergency
- Represent your team to the referee and the club
** If you are interested to be a captain in one of the four teams, please contact O50 League convenor at the latest by Feb 28th.
